How do we identify anonymous web site visitors?

We use deterministic (cookie-based identification) and probabilistic data providers (IP and fingerprint technologies) to match your website visitors. Based on the identification signals of anonymous web site visitors, this site visit data is then converted to verified name, mailing address and email, by utilizing data enhancement and verification providers.

How do we know what page they visited?

A website visitor can be tracked across each page that includes the pixel code. When clicking through multiple pages, an estimated time on the website can be calculated using the number of seconds between the initial page viewed and the last page viewed during the browsing session.

How many matches will I get?

We can typically capture 20-40% of website visitors.

Where is the pixel placed on the website, is it intrusive?

No, the website pixel is a single line of code that is placed within the page html. It has no effect on the website and is not noticeable to visitors.

I already know who is on my site. How is this different from Google Analytics?

Google Analytics can provide a lot of visitor metrics, but not WHO those people are. Enhancing generalized visitor data with real world consumer data allows anonymous visitors to be retargeted via print and digital campaigns.

How does this pixel differ from one from Facebook or Google?

Facebook and Google allow tracking of user activity across multiple devices, linking marketing efforts between a website and mobile ads.

Our pixel is specific to visitor activity on your website only and is used to obtain real world data on those visitors in order to remarket to them via email or direct mail or retarget via digital channels.

What do I need to do?

We will work directly with your web developer/digital agency to get the pixel code placed on your website.

How long does it take to set up?

Installation of the website pixel typically takes 5-10 mins.

To get the entire project set up and running, which includes installation of the pixel, designing postcard and email creatives, and creation of all the campaigns, it can a couple days, depending on the current workload.

Can one client have multiple campaigns?

If a client has multiple websites they want to capture leads from, campaigns can be set up for each. Additional set up costs would apply.

What is the cadence of delivery?

  • Data report of website visitor matches delivered by email daily
  • Email #1:  Sent out 1 hour after website visitor is matched
  • Postcard #1:  In-home 7-10 days after visit
  • Email #2:  Sent in week 3
  • Postcard #2:  In-home week 4

How do credits work?

Each matched website visitor uses 1 credit.

Purchased credits do not expire. If there are credits left at the end of the billing cycle, they will roll over and are able to be used for future matches.

If all available credits are used before the end the billing cycle, there are 2 options available.

1. Campaigns will be paused until the next billing cycle begins and new credits are added.

2. If overage credits are selected, the campaigns will continue until the end of the billing cycle and the customer will be charged for the additional credits at the same per credit rate.

What is included with a credit?

Visitor data + 2 postcards + 2 emails

What happens if there isn’t an email?

Visitor data + 2 Postcards

What equals a match?

A match includes a name and mailing address. Email, phone number, demographics are included where available. Emails are included in about 85% of the records. Phone numbers are included in about 50% of the records.

What happens with repeat visitors?

By default, visitors are matched only once after their initial visit. It is possible to allow repeat matches if desired, at 30, 60 or 90 day intervals from the initial visit date.

Can I pay only for visitors that are near my location?

Geographic filters are available to restrict matches to specific states, counties, or zip codes.

Can I add additional report demographics?

Yes, we return the following demographics along with Phone Number and Email address when available:

  • Gender
  • Age Range
  • Marital Status
  • Presence of Children
  • Net Worth Range
  • Household Income Range
  • Length of Residence Range
  • Homeowner Status
  • Education Level
  • Occupation
  • Language
  • Family Segment
  • Household Segment
  • Generation Group
  • Generation Segment

Demos are included in the report data and can be used to filter campaign data as well.

How accurate is the data?

Name and address data is verified using 3rd party services to confirm that the address is deliverable and the individual lives at that address. Where the email address is available, the email address is also verified as deliverable. However, all compiled consumer databases have a margin of error due to things like variations in base data quality, input errors, etc.

What if the phone numbers are on the do not call list?

Phone numbers should be run through a do not call registry before using them for telemarketing or text messaging.

Is it OK to email website visitors who have not explicitly opted in?

Yes. In the US, the CAN SPAM Act allows email to be sent to any user, regardless of whether they opted in with you to receive it, so long as specific rules are followed, including providing a mechanism in the emails sent for the user to opt out from future email, which all emails sent from our system do.

Do website visitors have to fill out a form agreeing to disclose their personal info?

Your website visitors are what is considered First Party Data, meaning they are people who have directly interacted with your company, in this case by visiting your website.

The data we provide enables you to more effectively market to them by providing additional information about those visitors.

However, there are things you should do to fully comply with privacy protection laws and be good stewards of your first party data. You should have a statement in your website’s privacy policy letting visitors know that you collect personal data for marketing purposes. You should have a way for them to opt out and remove them from your marketing databases if they do opt out. Finally, use it only for legitimate purposes to further your business and do not sell the data.

Is my visitor data shared with other parties?

No. Under no circumstances will your site visitor information be shared with anyone else. The site visit data collected is for your exclusive use.

Do I need to update my privacy policy on my website?

Your website privacy policy should include something like the following – feel free to use it as is or as a basis for your legal team to work into your existing policy.
